How To Update Your Home Fitness Space
So you’ve decided that you have a love for working out and have a preference for a Home gym but are feeling slightly underwhelmed with your existing dreary drab set up?
Do not worry; we are here to help! If you would like to update your home fitness space no matter how big or small, here are some handy tips to spice it up!
- Out with the old, in with the new!
Consider a clean sweep, toss out the old dust collecting workout videos from the ’80s and start fresh. Being stuck in a rut with the same old stuff will offer nothing to spice up your fitness regime, it becomes boring and monotonous, and you are less likely to work out if you are underwhelmed by what is on offer! If its DVD workouts you like, great…. go grab the latest copy, try a new routine and give it some welly.
Dump those broken, unused, and boring pieces of equipment that never saw the light of day and invest in a new type of gym equipment that will offer some much-needed boost to your motivation again.
- Renovate to motivate
If you are lucky enough to have a room dedicated to your work out space, then it may be time to get those DIY skills rolling! It doesn’t have to be fancy, a new lick of paint and some hooks and shelving (to store equipment neatly) may be all it takes to spruce up your space. You may wish to install mirrors to keep a firm eye on your technique, and it’s also a great way to see your progress.
If you are the temporary Gym types (due to lack of space) find a dedicated cupboard or even shed that can house all of your bits and bobs so that it never becomes untidy, annoying and frustrating to see around the house. It’s incredible how much better you feel when things are more organised.
- Get Technical
These days Gym workouts do not have to be boring; there is an array of options to explore, from tapping into Bluetooth to downloading the lasts fitness apps. This is a great space-saving way to work out; it requires no setting up equipment or packing away afterward, and it can be extremely fun and exciting to monitor your progress. Many people use activity trackers when out and about which ultimately means you are taking your workout with you, wherever you go.
- Be social
You can always make your home fitness space a more sociable event! Invite your friends or family around, make it a regular once per month occasion (that everyone looks forward to) and have a laugh and enjoy working out together. You could all chip into a pot to reward the most successful weight loser per month and then crack a cheeky bottle at the end of each session to celebrate!
Now if that’s not motivation to update your home fitness space, then I don’t know what is!
