7 Cleaning Hacks to Make your Kitchen Spotless

There are a few spots in your kitchen that get messy over time. Whether its grease, food splatter, piles of dirty dishes, this part of your home has the tendency to be clean and messy again! If you’re tired of this vicious cycle of cleaning after a mess, then you’ve come to the right place.

In this post, we’ll teach you seven cleaning hacks that will make and keep your kitchen clean. Not only will these tips teach you how to maintain your kitchen, it will also make the heart of your home spotless in no time.

Are you ready? Let’s get into it.

1. Put your lids on a rack

How many times would you open your kitchen cabinet only find several plastic container lids pop out? Or have you gone through the arduous task of searching through a sea of lids to find that pot you’ve been looking for?

To deal with the issue once and for all, buy a dish drain rack. Put it in your pantry or cabinet, and place items in between the dividers.

2. Clean your gas stove

When it comes to kitchen appliances, you shouldn’t just use it and then leave. It’s essential that it’s kept clean and presentable all the time.

For instance, if you have a grimy gas range, take off the griddles, grates, burner heads, and caps. Afterward, wash it with a non-abrasive sponge, dish soap, and then warm water.

If the dirt build-up is gross, then leave it soaked for about 20 to 30 minutes.

If you want to remove the dirt build-up due to splatters and spills, cover those spots with a cloth dampened in hot water for a couple of minutes. Afterward, take off the debris using a  rubber scraper.

Using a dampened sponge (not soaked!), wipe the entire stove top. Then, wipe it dry using a  microfibre cloth. Remember to rinse and dry everything that you removed before putting them back again.

3. Kill the “monsters” in your sink

While cleaning your kitchen sink isn’t the most fun thing to do, you have to keep it shiny and impeccably clean at all times.

After doing your dishes, sprinkle a baking soda in the sink and give a regular wipe down. Not only this will thoroughly disinfect the sink, but it will also give the metal a brand new shine.

4. Remove burnt food on pots and pans

Do you have a hard time taking off those hardened grease, stains, and burn marks in your metal cookware? Well, instead of investing in store-bought cleaners, why not try other alternatives?

Experts suggest a combination of baking soda and vinegar will clean off those scorch marks from the bottom of those burnt pans. Soak them in your baking soda and vinegar mix before scrubbing the burnt food off.

Perhaps your pots have regular marks and a couple of stains here and there because of the wear and tear.

While they’re not necessarily burnt or damaged, you want to give them a thorough cleaning. You can cut lemons into sections, boiling them in a pot before rinsing and cleaning it. The house will smell great afterward as well!

5. Clean the kitchen floor

If you already have scuffed linoleum, using toothpaste helps remove them. For scrape marks that are hard to get rid of, place a WD-40 on a towel then rub it on the damaged spot.

For an added shine, add few drops of baby oil on the apple cider vinegar and hot water solution. Then apply it on your floor using a damp mop.

6. Wash your cleaning supplies

One of the biggest cleaning mistakes you can ever commit is to spend a significant amount of time cleaning parts of your kitchen with a moldy, gross, sponge.

While sponges are great, they also contain a lot of bacteria.

For you to properly do these cleaning hacks right, make sure that the cleaning supplies that you use are sanitary. Replace your sponge at least every month, and clean up your dustpans as well.

7. Take care of your smelly trash can

Nothing is as off-putting in your home than a smelly garbage bin. So hose it down, dry it, a sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of baking soda on the bottom. Doing so will make it stink-free.

Over to You

The kitchen is the heart of your home. However, it can quickly turn dirty ‒ fast! If regularly neglected, from basic washing and wiping down, everything can easily go out of hand. It’s a high-traffic space, as well as where you prep your meals. That’s why it should be cleaned regularly.

Hopefully, you will apply these tips that we’ve mentioned on how to clean your kitchen, so that it will be spotless in no time.
